Parent Handbook

To start our day of graduation ceremonies, our youngest graduates... The Kindergartners will take the stage for a sweet ceremony that celebrates their accomplishments and acknowledges their move up to Newer Elementary.

Third Grade might seem like an out-of-the-ordinary time to hold a graduation ceremony, but not for our 3rd Graders who are officially completing their Newer Elementary experience and moving up to the Upper Elementary classroom. Newer Elementary is such an important time of building foundations and strong skills for learning and growing and no w they get to take all that they’ve learned into Upper Elementary to expand their horizons, bring their ideas and visions to life and embark upon worlds and discoveries unknown.

After lunch, our 6th Graders will take the stage. These beautiful bright students will give speeches, hear from their teachers and celebrate the completion of their elementary years. Always an emotional and beautiful ceremony, it is incredible to see how they have each grown during their time with us and how very ready they are to embark upon the next phase of their education, Middle School. Everyone is Welcome.

As 8th Grade Graduation is the completion of not only of their Middle School experience, but also of their time at Village Gate. We intentionally hold 8th Grade Graduation on the same day as our Heroes Among Us Presentations as the core of our Middle School Program is the Hero's Journey where they each get to learn and experience that they are the Hero of their own story. The 8th Grade Graduation is a celebration of their readiness to cross the threshold into high school. It is a beautiful event that everyone, regardless of your child's age, is welcome and encouraged to attend. You will be happy you did.

Heroes are not people with capes and superpowers. They are people who do great things, who are brave and make a difference and they’re all around us! This event will look a bit different than it has in year's past. With our theme of Be the Change, our students will identify, share and sing about change and changemakers. We will start at 9:00am. This event will last about 90 minutes.
